I figured that these two are the almost common emulators that are requested in this forum. So, I decided to spend my time to write a guide for it.Permit's start with a background info first. Emulators are programs that emulates another video game console. There are more emulators for the PSP, if you wish to install scroll down for dr1ver's super emu guides.

Intro:

I noticed that many people want to play GBA in their PSP. Well... that is possible ! At that place are many emulators out there for pc. The all-time (IMO) GBA emulator for PC would be Visualboy Advance. For the PSP, it would exist gpSP (which is ported from VBA). In this guide I volition show yous how to install gpSP. THIS WORKS FOR PSP SLIM AND Fatty.

Requirements:

i. A Custom Firmware PSP with a 3.XX kernal
ii. Unofficial gpSP Kai v3.ii Exam 8.7 ( Volition update if needed)

Steps:

Before I go along, I desire to tell you that emulators are not illegal. The bios and roms (games) are. So, I volition not post where to go them. You are goin to apply google.

1. Download the gpSP from the above link. Extract the files into your desktop. After, open the ms0/PSP/GAME binder. Until you see the folder gpSP. Copy that binder into your GAME folder on your PSP.

2. Become inside the gpSP folder in your PSP. Now download the GBA BIOS use google to search for it. Rename the bios to "gba_bios.bin". Transfer that file to the gpSP folder.

3. After become your gba roms and put it on the ROMS folder inside that GBA folder. Gpsp can play .gba and zip files that contains the .gba file.Beginning the game and have fun.

one) Copy the .sav and .svs files from the GPSP folder into a backup binder.
2) Open VisualBoy Advance and go File/Import/Battery File and choose the .sav file.
iii) Do what you want to exercise on VisualBoy Advance and save the file as a VisualBoy Advance Save File (.sgm).
iv) On VisualBoy Advance get File/Consign/Bombardment File and relieve it equally exactly the aforementioned name of the ROM that the save file is from.
5) Rename the VisualBoy Accelerate .sgm file to the same name as the ROM file, the slot you want it to be in and so .svs as the file extension. e.k. Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City0.svs.
6) Re-create both files back to where you lot copied the files from originally and run GPSP.
7) Go to the slot you put in the filename. At that place should be some random pic in that location. DON'T WORRY. This is perfectly normal. Just load the file and everything should piece of work perfectly. If this doesn't work endeavour to load savestate from file under savestate options.

FAQ:

Q: Can this play GB or GBC games ?
A: Not that i know, no. There is the Masterboy emulator for PSP which tin play GBA, GB and GBC games.

Q: The emulator isnt starting ?
A: Please read the FAQ section in the SNES guide.

Q: Where can I download bios and roms
A: As i said b4, use google. They are copyright files then information technology makes them illegal to share.

Q: Do I need to convert the Rom or such?
A: When you download a rom they should either be in a .zip or .gba format. gpSP tin can play .zip files with the gba rom inside. However, I recommend that y'all unzip the game to .gba. No need to convert.

Q: Can I play with my friends that has gpSP with adhoc.
A: Sadly, no. Though the programmer of the emulator is working on it.

Q: I can start the gpsp merely it says I got a bad bios or such.
A: You got a corrupt gba bios. Download some other one. If your PC does not prove full extension of files, effort renaming the bios to "gba_bios".

GUIDE: Play SNES games on your PSP (Snes9xTYL)

Intro: This a guide to install Snes9xTYL into your PSP. This emu will let y'all play SNES games on your PSP. There is a SNES emu for the PC so u can try the game 1st to see if it is corrupt. The best (IMO) would be Snes9x. For the PSP information technology would be Snes9xTYL. THIS WORKS FOR SLIM AND Fat.

Requirements:

1. A Custom Firmware PSP with 3.XX kernal
2. Snes9xTYL 0.four.two ME (will update if needed)

Steps:

Before I go on, I want to tell you that emulators are non illegal. The bios and roms (games) are. So, I will not post where to go them. You are goin to utilise google.

one. Download the SNES9xTYL and extract it. There should be a "snes9xTYL" folder. Copy that to your GAME binder of your PSP.

2. Put your ROM into the ROM binder inside the snes9xTYL folder yous just put on your PSP. This emulator can play .smc game file and zip file that contains the .scm file.

3. Disconnect the USB, become to the GAME menu of your XMB, and select the emulator.

Transfer SNES9x saves to SNES9x TYL

Salvage it from the Save State Function. After, yous should get a .zsX (where X is the number) with the name of yous game. Transfer that file into the SAVES binder of your SNES9x TYL.

Q: Can this play NES games?

would be good if yous could go information technology stickied, and mayhap even add info on how to install other emu'southward (DGEN, Snes9x etc), could then take it every bit a kind of emu install thread to assist some of the noob's out?

Yeh, information technology would probably exist quite a bit of work thinking well-nigh information technology lol. would be practiced though if you could become it together.
Information technology would exist a real shame for the site to lose a member similar you mrgooey...you do a lot of skillful on here!

A friend of mine is going on a road trip tomorrow. He asked if I could modern his psp game and set him up with some street fighter action. I oasis't run an SNES emu on my psp ever. This guide was both simple and too the point.
Thanks for writing it! I hope a mod stickies it.
I did everything you said and it still doesnt work!!Plz help me

you sound like someone that my be able to assistance me...

I only posted a thread which read

I bought a psp off ebay... with 100 games on dvd...

everything was working fine and I was happily dragging the games on to the memory stick and playing them

Until...

I bought a couple of new games from hmv...

when I put them in the psp information technology said, new system softwear needed to play game, up appointment now... so I said aye without thinking and followed the step by stride...

my psp is now upgraded to v3.five Even so I cant play the v1.iii games...

does anyone know a way circular this???

Im thinking... format my retentivity stick again... and then re-create the fast loader over into the game folder again???

If not I can set it back to v1.3 but so how do I play my new games???

I notation ... Dont upgrade to whatever official firmware if yous wish to play backup games.

But, since you lot already upgrade to OFW ... yous need to downgrade your PSP. Here is the options, use google and research information technology.

1. Use the 3.50 downgrade ( Needs Lumines)

Ok, i am definatly a noob here, so please conduct with me.
I have custom firmware iii.lxxx M33-5 on my sony psp. i followed The guide here EXACTLY the way it was written to put a GBA emulator on my psp, later on doing everything that is said in the guide, when i become to apply the GBA emulator, all it says is that the Information i put on the psp is corrupted. AND i cant delete the data unless i format the retention stick.

I have sony memory stick duo 8gb , which is what i wanted to put the emulator on. I take no problems putting iso / cso on my psp and playing them, but when i try to put an emulator on here, it ever says the information is corrputed. delight help!!
